The audience in Bengaluru has a genuine curiosity for new experiences, according to director and playwright Roysten Abel. Teaming up with renowned percussionist Ranjit Barot, Roysten is preparing to showcase an audio-visual performance called Beat Route, featuring 10 master folk percussionists from Rajasthan and Kerala. Describing the event as an "earthy, high-spirited electro experience," Abel expresses his excitement for offering a one-of-a-kind show surrounded by talented musicians who are unfamiliar with such a concept. In a recent discussion, Abel explains that his focus is on creating fresh and enjoyable experiences for both himself and his team, without any contrived elements. Emphasizing the importance of engaging young audiences in theater, Abel believes that the art form has the ability to captivate individuals with short attention spans. Drawing inspiration from his personal experiences, Abel shares that each new production presents unique challenges that he tackles by focusing on creating his own distinctive music.
